I wonder what value these multi channel amps will have down the road. I see the monoblocks and 2 ch. amps with meters having value over the long term but wonder about long term value on the multi channel & processor stuff. If you are running a HT setup with unlimited badget then I get it... However I doubt one could tell a big difference in multichannel amp from McIntosh vs say parasound which could be had for much less!!!

I could see the power amps maintaining value, but the preamp/processors tend to go obsolete quickly.

We've gone from composite video to component to HDMI, Pro-Logic giving way to Dolby Digital and DTS, adding higher bitrates and eventually height with Atmos, streaming audio and video, connectivity rolling from USB to Bluetooth, all in the last fifteen years.

Power amp requirements remained the same.

I used an MX 130 in my audio system. Obsolete Home Theater components can be the best bargains in audio.

My mistake - add another $1,200 for a total of $9,950. Asking price is more than fair with original packaging, manuals- assuming top condition.

for some reason the MC7106 sells for more than MC7108. I think caddy might be on the high side of MC7108 @ 1200.00 One sold for 1100.00 and another is listed for 1125.00 obo. The 7106 however seems to sell for 1200.00-1600.00???

Look at the specs of each and you'll know why. Also, the 7106 has the LED bar graph meters while the 7108 does not. 7108 was marketed as a multi-zone power amp - and the seller has the CR12 to go with it.

Whether 7106 or 7108 doesn't change the picture all that much as to the reasonableness of the asking price. A lot more has been asked for Mc systems adding up to less total value.

I don't know whether the seller will refuse to part out. I suspect the MC7300s will have the greatest interest; then the CD player/MC7108s. For the theater preamps & multi room units, probably not so much.
