Concept 2QD

Mine! Mine! Mine! All Mine!

Here is a picture of my Legendary Concept 2QD! What you can't see in this photograph is the knee marks in my driveway from the legions of 2QD cultists that have come to :ntwrthy: adore :ntwrthy: this mythic turntable!

The fellow who shipped it actually left the table in place but strapped it down with clear packing tape and filled the dust cover with stuff and then packed it in 10 inches of bubble wrap all around. It was not a text-book packing job but the thing arrived untouched once I found it and some of the detachable parts in the packaging. (It took me 20 minutes just to find the turntable counterweight which was separately wrapped and buried in the bubble-plastic plasma cloud.)

Sam,

Any idea of how the 2QD looks? Have you had a chance to unpack it and check it out? Would like to know if your Concept BIN worked out too?

Best Regards,

bart

Sam,

I wish I had seen this thread much earlier - I am traveling from Concord to San Diego via San Fernando valley today, and would have been happy to pick up your TT.

Rgds,

2QD counterweight

I just picked up a 2QD for $10 and it needs a counterweight. Does anyone have one for sale? I know it is a long shot but the unit works great.

vtomike, did you ever find your counterweight? Seems they go missing a lot!

MikeMcTN, what happened to your tonearm?

I'm still in need of a tonearm from a junked Concept 2QD, if anyone has one. I know it is an old thread, but did you ever find a tonearm. I just bought a Concept which came with an extra tonearm. Let me know if you are still needing one.

Man, I realize this post is really old, but I am direly in need of a Concept 2QD tonearm. My blue lead got ripped off and the replacements that I have found don't work. I live in TX and would gladly pay shipping and beer money if by some random chance you still have that tonearm!

I have 2 Concept 2qd turntables. Both are very nice cosmetically. Only issue is both of the tonearms dont lower. Grease is old and needs to be replaced. One came with an extra tonearm wand.

In the process of polishing the dustcovers.

I've had a similar issue with the lowering mechanism not working even though I had it serviced by a pro once, it's happening again. Those Concepts are in great shape and look good with the dustcover on! I haven't had one for mine and haven't found a replacement. I've seen the Reloop covers people have posted but haven't bought one yet.

When you say it came with an extra tonearm wand, are you talking about the whole arm that comes off near the cueing lever (pic attached to make sure I'm using the right term). I removed mine so I could see if I could replace the headshell to fix my broken lead problem, but alas, the wires go all the way down the arm.

Yes. It came with an extra arm wand. One of the metal clips detached from wire. Im going to resolder it. I dont think the arm was ever used.
