Last Friday I picked up a rather clean set of Concept CE-2s from a gentleman on Craigslist.

I’ve yet to try them as I’ve been buys but wondering if anyone has a crossover schematic for this set? I can’t seem to find one online.

I’m going to try to swap the binding posts today, bd give them a go but would would like to see the schematic if at all possible.

I’ve not pulled a driver yet to even check on the cap values, just hoping someone has some info on the set.

Built like tanks that’s for sure!!

I think I can drill out the backside of the binding posts and make a quick swap with this parts express one that will allow me to run bananas.

The 10uF and 22uF caps might need replacing, but that looks to be about it unless the pots need cleaning/lubrication.

That is what I was thinking, I do have some nice Alpha Core inductors that may fit the bill but after looking at the pictures in the manual they look to be of some quality.

If you must tinker (and most of us must) you could reorient the coils so that they are at 90 degrees to each other - you'd have to put some of them upright - and that would minimize interactions between the magnetic fields. I believe this is more worth doing if there is a lot of power going through the crossover, but my dim memory is that the speakers are somewhat inefficient, so power levels might be considerable.
This looks to me to be a variant of the ESS Tempest series, but I suspect you know that.

I think they are 91db so you’re correct, not really the most efficient set but also not horrible. They claim to have a minimum of 20w ans a max of 200w. Most of my amps are tubes, so will most likely run them with the quicksilver KT monos, but to start I’ll be using a 70-80wpc ss amp. Going to try to test them out shortly as I’ll be off work soon.

More efficient than I guessed, then.
I'll be interested to what you think of them. I believe the Heil rediates both front and back, and I wonder how the back wave is absorbed, and what effect that has on its sound.

I’m swapping the old pin connectors to banana binding posts right now. I’ll be setting them up for some listening this evening.
