Conceptual Magnavox Console Preamp Control Question?

For my Maggie Console Rebuild I'm refurbing a 9304-20 powered console with a twist.

I just completed rebuilding the power supply. The next phase of the build is the Amp and Preamp. I'm considering moving the preamp 6EU7 to the Amp chassis. I'm wondering about this creating proximity issues for the control pot wiring.

My inquiry is this:
Would it be doable to move the preamp tube for my console from the Tuner Chassis to the Amp Chassis while leaving the Volume(loudness), Treble and Bass controls in the Tuner Chassis?

Long leads between the volume pot and the tube can pick up some interference. The signal levels upstream of that tube would be quite a bit lower than after it, so any noise it might pick up would be a lot more audible. You also run into possible problems with capacitance from the cable messing things up.

Honestly I'd want to leave the preamp as-is, especially if you have designs down the road on running a different power amp in this unit. That makes the power amps basically universal.

Thanks for reminding me of my plug and play power amp designs. My thoughts on moving the preamp were kind of a work around so I could use the VM 6V6 amp I picked up a few weeks ago with this console. The VM uses a funky topology with a single 12ax7 concertina phase splitter between a pair of preamp 12ax7s and four 6V6 outputs. Without rebuilding it as something like an Amp 175 it's not compatible with my consoles preamp.
I think I'll probably use the VM elsewhere and save myself the noise troubles of running long lines between the tube and controls in the preamp.
Thanks.
