Confusing tube compliment

It's 10103. Still no filament on the ECL86 after I cleaned the pins. I think I know enough to quit for now and remove it and do an inspection.

Yours has an MPX connection? Is it in that empty socket hole near the outputs (at least it's empty on my unit)?

Did it come with any paperwork? The 10103 seems to suck up all data that approaches it. Mine was stripped down to the crumbling cabinet, receiver head and speakers when I found it. Even the TT was long gone.

I assume you're referring to that tuner section? I have no idea why it's stuck at an angle like that, but it was apparently made that way.
 
It was so it fits better in the cabinet I guess. Yes mine does have an MPX connection. 3 RCA jacks on wires. 2 yellow for the audio in, one black for MPX out. The speaker connections are interesting. 3 pins. Plug in the jack one way and it disables the built in speaker. The other way uses both. I will get photos of the back panel with all the markings tomorrow.

I would love to see where those points are connected, I thought about wiring an old Magnavox MPX chassis to the Blaupunkt.
 
Sure I know where the wires go. I was thinking about an MPX adapter too. Are there plans to make a simple SS module that could do the job? John

I haven't seen a DIY SS multiplexer, but I bet you could find a tube MPX unit without too much trouble on eBay. Quite a few companies made those stand-alone modules after the standard was decided.
