I've read through the previous posts and can't see the information that I require to upgrade my Sonab OA12 speakers. I live in Australia and purchased the Sonabs back in 1980 along with a pair of OD11 speakers. I'd heard them at a friend's place and when the run-out stock became available at a reduced price (I was still a cash-strapped student at art school) I snapped them up. Fast-forward to the early 1990s and foam-rot had knocked both sets of speakers out of contention, I was relieved at the time to be able to buy 4 x Peerless 833599 replacements and did the conversion carefully and successfully. Slightly tighter bass response, a little bit punchier but the OA12s were back in service.
I decided quite recently to revisit the idea of upgrading to the Obi T22OA for the OA12s but will leave the OD11s as is for now. I revisited the Carlsson site and did the obligatory translation to English and also the Carlsson Kult site but I'm still a little nonplussed as to whether the Peerless 833599 drivers and Obi TT2OA tweeters and revised crossover will work or are recommended as an upgrade. Are Grafpro's crossovers the same as the ones from HiFi Kit Electronics? I get the impression that the revised crossovers are set up for Carlsson B65-oa IV. Is there an advantage to buying from one supplier rather than the other? I can't afford to have the components sent over to Australia only to find that I've got the fundamentals wrong, any help gratefully accepted...
