Did abit more scroungin around and found my very first hifi cartridge ca. 1967/68, a Stanton 500 conical. freq resp dropped of at around 17Khz. Everything from there was elips as that what was the goin rage for higest fi, 10Hz-20Khz plus. The only one I'm missing is a Grace???. Musta lost it.

I can't hear above 15kz so everything above that is useless except for the purported "psychological effect". LOL
A Stanton 500 was a great cartridge!
 
The conical was the heavy-duty party stylus that sounded good, was easy to find, simple to set up, trouble-free, and did not hurt the wallet. When styluses evolved into more complex shapes, it became more crucial to get the alignment right or distortions would result. It would sound muffled and the imaging would collapse, not good at a party. It would always result in irate friends with hoarse sounding bad words. The easier to align conical stylus kept going and sounded much better then angry friends.

The Bi-Radial and Line Contact look very similar.

Probably why I bought it , for performance vs price. I was "poor" at the time and did lotta research on my audio stuff. But I was a big time tekky by Mil training, school and job.
Back then I prolly culd hear 17k-20k. Today no way. At my age I got some pretty bad drop off over 2K but still Sense I hear music in all it's glory, and even like cranking down the treble on many songs, but I think it's the shitty CDs eq/compression causing that. Damn I wish my 300K cue oil from TT basics would get here. Been nearly 2 weeks.
