Connecting Equalizer to Technics SA-340

Hi Everyone. First time posting here. In advance, I appreciate everyone taking the time to help.

I have a Technics SA-340, with a turntable hooked up to it (+2 bookshelf speakers). I also use the AUX to plug in my iphone to listen to digital music.

I'm looking to add an equalizer so I can dial in sounds better for both the AUX and phono. Ive done a bit of poking around on the internet but I'm still unclear if I can add an equalizer and utilize it for both the phono and Aux.

The SA-340 has 2 tape in/outputs (not Tape monitor - see image).

Can I hook up an Equalizer, and have it work for both Aux and phono? If so - how do I do this correctly?

Thanks everyone.
Ollie

It appears that those paired outlets are in fact tape-monitor connections, your receiver is set up for two decks. Just use
one set of four for the equalizer of your choice ;)

Great thank you. And I should be able to toggle from photo to aux and still have the Equalizer effect both? I was under the impression (incorrectly it appears) that the equalizer would only work for Tape function.

If, for example, you pick "Tape 1," use corresponding inputs and outputs and flip front panel Tape 1 Mon "on." There may be a switch on the equalizer you choose to take it in and out of the circuit, and another to replace the Tape Monitor you just used up on the receiver.

Sorry, I didn't really answer your question...the Tape Monitor connection puts the equalizer in the proper place "in the chain" so that it will work no matter where the function switch is selected.
