Connecting Siri directly to external speakers......

I know that if one wanted to use Siri as an audio connection source for your iphone music, one simply would just connect Siri (from it's 3.5mm external connector) to an audio receiver (or third audio source?) AUX and one could listen to their playlist from their iphone (or other source?) then use Bluetooth from your iphone to connect to Siri and listen and enjoy your music that way.

But I thinking about removing the receiver (as a third source) and just connecting Siri directly to external speakers using adapters, etc. ?

Has anyone here ever tried connecting Siri directly to external speakers using adapters?

If so what where the results?

Where you satisfied with the outcome?

If so what adapter connectors did you use?

Your thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.

Anyway just thought I'd inquire.....thanks in advance to all those who post!

Alright, never mind this process.

I just rigged up a quick connection from Siri's 3.5 mm cable connector (with split male banana plugs) to external speaker wire (rigged with female plugs) and well it appears as though it's a "NO-GO" situation.

Basically it will not work!

A third source (receiver, etc.) is needed to connect Siri to a third party's AUX INPUT in order to use Siri as a source to listen to music on one's iphone with Bluetooth.
 
I don't know a Siri device, but, if it has line level output, you will need an amplifier. Receivers are multiple electronic pieces, one of which is an amplifier, in an enclosure.

Self powered speakers will work. These are popular for computers. They have a power cord, power button, volume, and often tone adjust buttons and knobs on them.
Another option is a boombox / ghetto blaster with aux inputs (it has its own amp.)

My absolute fault on my wrong usage on description, words and terms.

I got so caught up in this that I am, just now realizing my mistake. You are so right and correct that I was referring to Echo"s (Alexa) and not Siri.

Again, thanks "swechsler" for pointing this all out.

I just went ahead and setup an old Sherwood S-7110 receiver and connected the ECHO to it's AUX INPUT!

My apologies everyone for the misinterpretation / miscommunication on not being clear about it all......Ha..ha!...joke's on me!
 
The Echo Dot (Alexa) was given to me as a small gift a few years ago and I am just now using it.

Connected it to the receiver in our outside patio so that I have the option to play my list from my iphone and that's all it will be used for!

It will be shut / turned off the majority of the time (due to the fact that it is known to "listen in" on people's (unknowingly) conversations, etc.)

Yes, you can get pretty decent sound out of an Echo Dot, assuming you have an appropriate subscription. But you appear to have figured that out.
