Connectting subwoofer - stereo system - Sony Ta-f6b

Hi everyone, im agustin from Chile. I'd like to know your opinion on how to connect a sub woofer to my stereo system. the reason i want to try a subwoofer is because i put my speakers on stands. These are very punchy and detailed speakers, but some punch is lost on stands. This is the detail:

AMP: Sony ta-f6b
SPEAKERS: Sony ss-s31 (speakers on stands)

Many subwoofers come with a rca monoaural input, jack input, or speaker cable input, so what do you recommend? Also, do you prever active or pasive subwoofer for a system like mine?

Powered subwoofer. And used the speaker terminals to connect it. Amplifier speaker wires into the sub, speakers wires from the sub to speakers. What's the rated output of the Sony? You probably want a powered sub with at leased a couple hundred watts output or more.
I'm going to be adding a sub to a 35wpc tube amp. The sub is rated for 300 watts.

A sub with L & R rca inputs can be used with something like this:

Just look for a sub that has high level input, like the RSL,REL and I'm thinking that SVS 1000 series also has them.
