considering another turntable

Ah, my first post as I learn the ins and outs of this forum. My current TT is a Pioneer PL-51A and I've been thinking of adding another TT. There are 3 possibilities: Kenwood KD-2055, Phillips AF-887, Pioneer PL-510A. Would any of these be an "upgrade" and if so, which one(s) are worth pursuing?

Welcome to AK!! Just my opinion so take it for what's it's worth, but no, they would not be an upgrade. I would look much further up the ladder.

It's good to upgrade for a reason - ex - the turntable doesn't keep speed well - or has lots of noise etc. If you don't have those issues - then an upgrade to something that also doesn't have those issues will seem bunk.

Great advice (as it ain't broke) so thanks. The current cartridge on it is an AT PRO12E but would some of these other cartridges I have (Shure RS-6E, Ortofon FF15XE MKII, Empire 999 PE/X) be a better match?

All the tables you mentioned are all similar to your Pioneer, neither are upgrades. But, all are all solid tables.

The last letter of AT PRO12E means the stylus is elliptical, yes? I went from an AT-VM95E to AT-VM95ML ("Micro Line" stylus geometry) on a Pioneer PL-112D. It was a definite improvement in detail.
