Silvertone was Sears house brand name on their electronics for years. The unit itself was probably made by Warwick or Wells Gardner. Sears and/or Silvertone never made anything. The turntable is a lower end Garrard unit.

The Eight track is telling me the unit is late 1960's at the earliest. More likely 1970's, which is considered a little late for MCM.

That being said, it looks to be in great shape so if it's what you want, congrats.

I've seen one of those in person though I didn't get to hear it. I doubt if the sonics are all that great...but it was HOT.

The ad says " 1970's Retro stereo system. Record player , 8 track player and radio. Removable Speakers.
Excellent condition" so technically a little late for MCM. More of a pop design to my eyes, but nice looking.

Dangerous to use Wiki as a source, but it says "Mid-century modern is an architectural, interior, product and graphic design that generally describes mid-20th century developments in modern design, architecture and urban development from roughly 1933 to 1965."

If you like it, that's what counts.

Yea its not mcm. I dont ever buy these consoles there typically junk under the hood (yes there is some nice tube ones out there). This one is junk component wise. It just looks different that why I like it. ever since I seen the electrohome circa 75 console I wanted one but could never afford it.

At least it has the same legs as this. Its a step in the right direction. I can never afford an electrohome crica 75 or justify even buying this at current market prices.

I would buy that @ $75 and resell it at $250 in a heartbeat. It has the look!

As long as it will spin records, it doesn't have to sound fantastic.

I passed on it as it was too small. It looks big in the picture however if you gauge to the tv in the back ground its a 32 inch. I think they also took the picture sitting down. It would look weird where I was going to put it so I passed.

Looks like some flavor of Garrard changer. Don't know which one, there were a whole lot that looked very similar.
