Console ID, tube amp?

Just trying to find out if and possibly what tube amp might be lurking inside this RCA Victor phonograph console. Not sure how well the picture will turn out as it was texted to me by a friend, but from what I can read it says RCA Victor Total Sound Stereo High Fidelity.

99% sure it's tube, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular model and what amp might be inside?

Thanks, as always!

No experience with that particular model

It looks tubed to me and there is a good possibility that there is a RCA RS-177 in there. A great under the radar tube amp!

Thanks for chiming in Dswankey! After checking out some info on the RS-177, I'm excited and hopeful that's what is residing inside...looks like a nice little stereo tube amp, yes . Seems similar to the Packard Bell "Baby Bell" dp-30 I currently have.

Let us know if you acquire the console and what is actually in there

Just talked to the grandson of the original owner, and he said that he'll talk to his dad to make sure it wasn't thrown in the construction dumpster....yikes! Wish me luck that it wasn't, should know something in about 2-3 days

had the one in the catalog(many moons ago), the first pic...didn't have the extended spkrs, though. couldn't get it in the car- should have gotten a truck. took the guts out n gave the cabinet to a lady with a truck(!?). really love the way it sounds combined with yamaha ns 1000's and a variety of preamps connected directly to the amp(rs203a). have since replaced all electrolytics, diodes and resistors in the amp... many in the tuner section, as well. spkr connectors replaced with modern versions. Beitman's most often needed radio servicing guide can be googled...has a ton of schematics from a variety of manufacturers of the time. file's too big, so it won't upload here.
