Console TT

So I’m sitting here wondering. Has anyone ever removed and used a TT from a console? Is this a really stupid idea?

It probably depends on what turntable you are talking about. Some consoles used Duals or Miracords, some used low level BSR changers. Whatever it is, you'll probably going to want to buy or make a plinth for it. If it's going to cost more than just buying a similar stand alone table, then maybe it doesn't make sense. But hey, I've done things with turntables that don't always make sense. :dunno:

Okay cool reply’s. I have access to 5 consoles. Not sure what they have in them, but my curiosity is aroused. I like to tinker with this stuff, so I’m going to check it out.
I agree they’re not worth messing with if they are a poor quality table from the start. I have no idea what brand they put in them.
I grew up playing the hell outta my parents’ console when I was about 8 yo. It was fun but obviously back then SQ meant nothing to me as long as there was music playing. Good times.
