I am looking for some opinions on these two pre-amps. I currently have the Cyber-222 with the stock tubes in it but am currently looking at the Doge 8 Clarity. I am not unhappy with my Cyber-222 but as with this hobby I have the itch for something new. I assume no one has heard both and done a side by side but how about some of you that know more about whats on the inside, does one seem to have better parts? Does one seem to be a better build?
Both of these pre-amps seem to really shine with a good set of tubes. Since I only have the stock tubes in the Cyber 222 I could also spend some money on a good set of tubes or give the Doge 8 a try.
The Cyber 222 uses 6SN7 tubes, a little harder to find and not as many choices and the Doge 8 Clarity uses the more popular 12AT7, does this have any effect on either preamp?
If you have an opinion either way, feel free to post it. If you have heard either preamp and have an opinion please post.
I have a pretty decent phono stage (Schiit Mani) but if the phono stage in the Doge might be better than that will also help this decision.
Sorry so many questions, just looking for some opinions.
Cheers
