Coral BX 20

So.. I was given a set of Coral BX 20 this weekend. The owner said his dad brought them home in 1964. I don't know anything about them, other than that they sound GREAT! When I searched a data base:

I didn't find this model # listed and for that matter I can find little to no info for these speakers. I believe they have the white cones but I haven't been able to get the front cover off yet, and have stripped just about every screw on the back, going to get an easy out tomorrow.

The speakers have some water damage on the bottom, the house where they were stored was hit by a tornado a couple years ago.

Eric,

Your speakers are the 2nd Corals' this week on AK that don't appear in that database. Glad they sound good to you. I have a pair of BX-300's that I enjoy. They should be very efficient. Does the rear panel come off so that you can get an identification on the individual drivers?

I just got an easy out today, I stripped about 2/3 of the screws trying to get them out the other night. Hopefully I will have some information to report later this evening.

Post photo of stripped screws easy to make big mess with easy not not always so easy with small fastener might be better solution if just head stripped.

JJ, it did indeed become a considerable problem. I was able to finally get the back cover off though.

16 ohm
20 watt

Oh thanks for this incredible insight! It didn’t once occur to me that getting an answer to my inquiry is a long-shot.
