Correct L Pads for JBl L150 speakers

Well, at zero, depending of the wiring inside the crossover, I'd say it's normal to have zero output at the 0 position. That's an attenuator. You should set it to MAX, and start reducing the output to your taste.

Edited: looking at this schematic,

the L-pads set to zero shunt the signal completely to ground, so it's normal to have zero output .

That's great news, thank you very much for the reply. I appreciate that a lot. I'm hoping there's no real loss in terms of sound quality between the replacement attenuators and the original. At first I thought it would only be an improvement, but after reading more on it maybe I should try to repair the originals. Although they're in pretty rough shape.
 
It shouldn't be any difference. It's just 2 resistors, no secret components inside. Don't overthink too much about this. It's a voltage divider, sending part of the signal to the driver and some part of the signal to ground.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate that. This is just a bigger project than I've taken on before. I might make a seperate post showing the work I've done on them when I'm done.
