Corroded Headphone Jack

I have an issue that I wanted to see if someone could help me solve. The tip of the headphone jack on my Hi-Fi man HE-500 headphones has completely corroded. Is plugged into a Lyr headphone amplifier from Schiit Audio. Did the headphone amp fry the tip of the headphone jack or was it just a bad headphone jack? Anyone else have this problem? Issue occured after approx 6 mos in service.

A picture would be nice. HE-500 is a $600 dollar set of cans it should not have this sort of problem. Have you inspected the jack of the head phone amp. I have had corroded jacks and plugs but that was on 60 and 70 year old rigs.

Shouldn't happen. I have the same headphones although mine are less than a month old. This is the first time I've heard of this kind of problem on a fairly new set of headphones and there's nothing I've read on Head-Fi that would allude to this.

You should contact HiFiMan about the problem with pictures. They'll probably swap it out with another set of cables if it's only 6 months old.
