Could use some feedback. Considering a Hitachi SR-804

I'm working on building out a vintage system primarily for vinyl listening. Maybe will connect something to do Bluetooth Tidal HiFi too. That might just be a side addition. The main purpose is for vinyl.

Currently own:
Ohm FRS-11s (Just picked these up and am super excited to actually use them!)
https://ohmspeaker.com/legacy-products/frs-11/
Technics SL_D1
Schiit Mani (Not tied to this. If it is unnecessary in this setup I'll either return, or use for future expansion to my livingroom setup)

Found a SR-804 online and going to check it out tomorrow. The guy says it is in excellent condition. Asked if it ran hot and if he could give me dc readings from the outputs. He just said it was excellent condition again. Planning on getting a multimeter to see what the output looks like. It looks very clean/ well kept. Is there anything else I should consider?

Also, any thoughts on adding this amp to the setup? From what I can tell, people seem to like the amp and it should be able to effectively power the Ohms. He is asking $280. Frankly, if it's a good fit, good condition, etc I don't mind paying. However, if you all think I should hold out a bit I will do that.

I know this was long. Thank you so much for reading and any comments you might have.

Speaker terminals just look like the old spring clip variety rather than the more modern binding posts. You may just need to remove any banana plugs from your speaker cables to plug them in. Otherwise should be just like you’re used to.

No personal experience with the receiver, but $280 seems high. Check out some for sale online and see where prices currently stand. This should give you a better idea of the range they sell for.

If it’s not been serviced/restored already, be ready to factor that into your cost of ownership.

good luck and let us know what you think when you see/hear it in person!

Thanks! Removed the bit about the speaker terminals. That makes sense.

I felt the $280 might be a bit on the higher end. Will look around and see what other examples I can find. It's also been posted for six weeks now, so, there is hopefully a bit of room for negotiation.

Hope it works out, if not... there are surely more out there
