Cover version that you like better than the original?

Is there any song whose cover version you like better than the original? To me, it's Georgy Porgy. I like the Smoma cover much better than the original Toto performance. The Smoma version is more energetic, more uplifting, and definitely more toe-tapping than the original. And I like Simona's powerful vocal much better than Joseph Williams' , especially at the minute 3:41 and 3:48. I'm not saying Williams' voice is bad. Heck, he did great in I Will Remember. However, Toto's Georgy Porgy feels like it's on valium compared to the Smoma cover.

Prelude's version of Neil Young's "After The Goldrush" would qualify for me. Simple truth is that I can't abide Neil's voice, even though I love his songwriting.

One song that was recorded by the songwriter, and was covered by someone much better known: Sailing, written by Gavin Sutherland, and first performed by The Sutherland Brothers, was covered by Rod Stewart, and became the definitive version of the song. Personally, I preferred the original.

Coldplay's "The Scientist" - Preferred version by Aimee Mann, and a cute version by a group of French kids, Vox Angeli.
