CR-1020 Needs Some Minor Help

Hello all,
So I just picked up a 1020 that has some minor issues. Bulbs out, channels cutting in and out, dirty switches, etc. It seems like nothing major at first, so far.
I can not find all that many troubleshooting threads here, other than the one or two from Rob.

Any tips on problem areas, or can anyone recommended any techs, in the NYC area I can bring it to for a quick look see?

channels cutting in and out

Try excersizing the coupler switch on the rear panel.

Before you open it, spin the tuner dial fully left or right, so the string doesn’t catch on the center support.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll give them a try.

But as I am not much of a tech beyond doing this simple kind of stuff, I think I may just send this out for a refurb, because I like the looks of it.

I see ManyMoons gets lots of recommendations for his work, and I would contact him first but I wonder if there are any other AKers you guys can recommend?
And, Dave already told me that he stopped doing receivers.

Bulbs are wired in series-parallel configuration in my 620 & 820, yours probably same (@avionic confirm, pls), which may drive ya nuts when replacing, so change all at once to save headaches(ask me how I know!) They should be 12-14volt. Stations cutting in & out- could be fm muting on signal-threshhold of weak reception, make sure muting is OFF & try. Pretty easy to clean pots & switches with the appropriate contact cleaner spray. Elsewhere in the forums you'll find out what to use & how. You'll be most happy with that thing once sorted out, good score!
