Crackling noise from speakers

I have an Audio Research Ref 5 SE preamplifier and recently I have noticed an intermittent crackling noise from the speakers. The noise seems to be more on the right side. Are defective or old tubes the most likely cause. The tubes on this unit have got about 3,100 hours on them.
Also, should the tubes all be replaced as a set or can I just replace a single tube, providing it can be identified which one is defective. I have been told that the four 6330 tubes can last up to 4,000 hours but the one 6550 tube can only last up to 2,000 hours
Thank you in advance

Would also be grateful for an approximate idea of how much a set of these tubes would cost, and is it better to buy directly from AR or can I buy from another dealer.
Thank you
