Hello everyone!
I bought this old cd player because I heard great stories about 1541 dac, and this player in general.
Anyhow, playing some discs I noticed some random noises in the music, and they are getting more common from mid to the end of disc. These random noses are really hard to describe since I never heard something like it. I could maybe compare it with vinyl needle cracks, but more thin and short. Sometimes they are appearing once in 10 seconds, very subtle, but sometimes they can attack as a horde of noise lunatics, again depends which disc I am playing.
Now, i thought problem is in laser, so i bought new one, got it replacad, but these crackers are still inside cd player.
I tried turning laser pots on a board (i know, I shouldn't without proper measuring equipment) and i manage to reduce some noise by ear, but still can't remove all of them, so I assume neither focus calibration and other pots are able to remove this annoyance.
Any suggestions, is this beauty dying without cure?
