I just bought two for an unrelated purpose, but if I needed a flexi rack I'd think these would be a good base to start with.

Do note in the GJ thread there is speculation that these are not real maple but a softer wood, so if you are hard on your shelves this may not be for you, but $20 for a 26"x17" butcher block is not bad, and 26" wide should accomodate all sorts of vintage gear that modern racks designed for 19" wide max components will not hold.
