I've always heard of vinyl collectors stumbling upon some great fine. Well I can attest that it happened to me and really good people do exist out there. Check out my craigslist score from last night.
There was an ad giving away two old turntables for free. I noticed they were nice turntables (SL-23 & SL-L92), well nice for 30 years ago. and the address was in a nice neighborhood. Ad mentioned a few LP’s but did not say what they were or how many. I almost did not go because I really didn't need another turntable. But I was hoping anyone with those turntables propably had a well kept collection, I was right.
He did not have time to talk on the phone, he just said come to my house and see what I have. So I took a chance and went off to the guys house that night.
Turned out to be the nicest man and family I’ve met in a long time. He collected them over many years and he also had the the tapes fully cataloged.
His music taste were very broad, over 200 LP’s and a stack of self recorded reel to reel tapes. He had recorded the albums onto tape, thus most of the LP's were in lightly used and in great condition.

The owner was looking for a good new home for his collection, someone that would enjoy it rather than sell it.
I just wanted to share the story and good fortune this positive individual shared with me. I hope the good karma rubs off on you too!
