Just so you know, if you friends and family via paypal that doesn't protect the scammer against a credit card chargeback, plus if you do a chargeback he'd likely be hit with the $20 paypal chargeback fee as well. While sure, its a PITA to chargeback I figure its nice to know that even if you were scammed over friends and family you do have some recourse.
 
Seeing Dave/Randy/Whoever running his scam across the country makes me really appreciate the efforts of Ofc. (Det.?) Fiegel in the Noah Schumacher investigation.
Too often these types of crimes are ruled "not that important" to follow up on and prosecute.
 
A warrant is now out for the arrest of Noah Schumacher.

"Warrant issued after Boulder County vintage audio repairman fails to appear in court for scam case
Noah Schumacher fails to appear for Sept. 3 hearing while out on $5,000 personal recognizance bond"

"A Boulder County man accused of running a vintage audio repair business but failing to actually repair orders or return the items failed to appear for his first court date earlier this month.

Noah Lee Schumacher, 28, was arrested in August on suspicion of theft between $20,000 and $100,000 and computer crimes between $20,000 and $100,000."

I'm Rick from Denver. I'm also a victim of Noah Schumacher. Thanks to the efforts of the Boulder Co. Sheriff's office, I have recovered 2 of the 3 units (albeit in several pieces) in Noah's possession when he ran. I just got one of them, a Pioneer sx-1250, back from Dr. Dan in Littleton, CO. He was able to repair it charged a fair price. I've done business with Dan for years. He's honest and doesn't do the unnecessary repairs so prevalent in the audio world. Look for him on YELP.

Good luck to those victims who have not recovered their gear. My third piece, I'm afraid, is gone forever.

It usually takes more than two users to knock down a CL listing, flagging as soon as it is posted helps, but after 18 hours it has had enough hits it will likely not go down.
