So for the past hour I've been amusing myself reading ghost stories on the internet. A bit over an hour ago, I noticed the lamp next to me, which was the only lamp switched on in the room, was flickering. Not really noticably, just every so often the room appeared to go dark for a fraction of a second, as if I was blinking. In fact at first I just put it down to me blinking.
I started reading this story, which of course involved lights turning themselves off. All the while, the lamp next to me is still occasionally flickering - kinda weird. Then the clock chimes midnight and (I'm not making this up to sound dramatic) almost that very second the lamp goes into a crazy fit of flickering. "Okay this is not happening," I thought, as I got up and turned all the other lamps in the room on so I don't get suddenly plunged into darkness. The lamp soon stops flickering, I finish reading the story and then move on to read the comments. I go to click a link in the comments, and the exact moment I click the link, the lamp goes out.
A few minutes later my brother comes downstairs, so I tell him to read the story, and then tell him what happened. As he's reading the story, another lamp starts to flicker. It was a while before I plucked up enough courage to go to the garage and get a replacement bulb. Later my brother goes back upstairs, I head over to AK to lurk and read a few posts, and decide I might as well post this here and see if you guys have got any other good stories. As I'm writing this post the lamp starts to flicker again. This is getting kinda creepy now. I'm as much of a skeptic as anyone, I don't believe in ghosts, I know it's just some dodgy wiring and a random coincidence, but I've noticed a lot of these sorts of coincidences over the years. Yeah I know, stop reading ghost stories at night.
So come on guys, scare me.
