Crazy idea?

First, I'm a big Advent fan. OLA's were my first real stereo speakers in '74 and I've always had a thing for them. Right now I'm using 4002's in combination with my 1978 stuff and I really like the sound. Although not all that well received by some purists, by most accounts the '002 series with the upgraded tweeters probably have the best high end of all of them. Anyway, I'd love to move up to the 5002 or 5012 but finding respectable examples for a reasonable price is challenging. Sooo, here's what I'm thinking. I've found a decent pair of walnut-clad OLA's. The woofers need refoaming and the boxes could use a bit of refinishing, but all in all they are not too bad. So since I would like to get to the 5002/5012 level sonically, what about replacing the 'eggs' and crossovers with those from 5002/5012's and taking the route of least resistance, uh, expense?

So do you have the 5002's to cannibalize or did you mean 4002's?
What do you think is the advantage the 5's have over the 4's?

I've found the required components on an auction site, and I'd to keep the 4's intact for potential resale. From everything I've read, while the 4's are pretty nice the 5's are just a bit nicer mainly due to the bass response from the bigger box.
