Creation of a music lounge

Gone, gone and gone. I do have a back up system for the moment as I am rebuilding the whole setup. But there is no rush at this time since for a pleasant but unknown reason, I really enjoy this little setup, but that's another story :)

Oh man I still own the very same system for about 7months now which is describe in my signature. Very basic one but which sounds surprisingly good. However I have in mind to replace the amp and a new pair of speaker might come soon too. The most recent change I have made so far are the cables from The Chord Company

Some beautiful evolutions but living in a condo, all I can think about is your neighbors. Is the sound contained or do they *enjoy* your music with you?

The Wharfdales you had weren't quite right you said but I'm thinking My W90 from early 60's all Alnico Magnets with a beautiful Red Mahogany Table Top finish would have you grinning:)

I mean this in a good way... You change audio equipment like I used to change automobiles. I am sorry to hear of your loss. I am a father who lost his son five years ago this September.

I just wished I lived closer to you, so I could take advantage of some of your sales. This has been an incredible journey, and I am sure it is not over and I will keep watching for updates, and I do wish your wife well. Both of you have a lovely casa. :music:

Thank you very much for the kind word !! As I am typing I am listing to some music (Marillion - Less is more) and I do realise how good is this little setup. For a very long time I haven't listing so much music without the feeling to upgrade something... strange feeling

I'm glad I saw this thread.

Stellar Job, OP. I used to be the Bob Vila (This Old House) of Hawaii and Florida, and renovated three homes completely. I mean I gutted them. I did something similar in one of my listening rooms, where I put "Z-Brick" (facing brick) on the back wall, and also put in a zero clearance natural gas fireplace with the same Z-Brick, so I had the HDTV, Stereo and Fireplace all harmonized and easy on the eyes. Good you chose a dark brick. That's much better for gazing at the components or TV for long periods of time.

Also - NICE flooring. I'm big on that too. I've probably floored 12 rooms.

My days of renovation are OVER. But I sure like to see what others are doing. Very nice work. Time for you to sit back, relax and crank the tunes!

Well, two new devices are coming home. Brand new Teac AI-2000 integrated amplifier and AudioEngine D1 DAC. I can wait to receive both. I choose essentially the D1 for of his price sure but I wanted an optical input because this is the only audio out for my Xbox and that will be a portable headphone amplifier which will be useful (USB powered)

I've always had a soft spot for Teac gear. Love their design, very stylish. It should work nicely in your space. I hope you're doing well!

Congrats - I'm super curious to hear about the Teac AI-2000…seems like a very nice piece! And that's a heck of a deal on that DAC, too! Can't wait to hear more and see some pics of it integrated into your space.

Well it appears the TEAC turned to be sold out and I have receive a full refund from the website I bought it, it sucks. Furthermore, the Audioengine DAC is back order .. No luck. So here I am looking for a replacement, more to come...

Yesterday I bought from local website a Teac A-H01. Small amplifier with only 30W per side in Class D. What’s great about this amp is that it comes with an excellent DAC (Coax-Optical and USB in) so I can connect everything I have (tv – blu ray player – Xbox and of course my laptop for the library) How it sounds? Well to be honest very good and I am that impress. I didn’t thought I could have that much sound coming from such a small amplifier. Yes I do have good cables but even that I am surprise. Yeah of course if I start to be meticulous it’s not an amplifier with good punch and with lots of details like we can feel from higher gears but an honest sound for the price I paid. Anyway a great discovery which going to gives me the luxury to wait for the amplifier I want for a good price!
