Creek 4330 connection question

I’m a newbie and would appreciate any help on the following. I have a Creek 4330 integrated amp driving two Definitive ProMonitor 800’s and a Descend DN8 sub. Have used a speaker level in, high-level input to connect the sub. However, I noticed that my amp has two RCA jacks labeled “Pre-amp output (Power-amp input”) on the back. Could I use these to connect to the LFE input of my sub instead? If I did this, would the amp section of my Creek still de able to drive the 800’s? Thanks!

Is there a switch somewhere (maybe inside) to select preout or amp in on the Creek?
Does the subwoofer have L and R RCA inputs?
What's wrong with using the speaker level inputs on the subwoofer? Many people do this and some ever prefer to use speaker inputs on subs.

It should work. Do note that the Creek 4330 has a passive preamp (i.e. just a volume control and switcher - no active preamp) so the output on the premp/amp RCA jack will be fairly low level so the subwoofer volume control may have to be set higher than normal.

There is no switch on the Creek 4330 to choose preamp or power amp. I have used the Creek both as a preamp feeding an external power amp and as power amp from an external preamp (obviously not at the same time ha!) Its actually a mystery to me as to how the Creek 4330 can function as both with only one set of RCA jacks as shown in OP's picture of the back of the Creek 4330. If one of our smart posters would like to clarify that much appreciated.

Actually that's not really mysterious. I.e., if you'd have a look at the schematic, you'd see, that the compbined pre-out/main-in is just a parallel tap after the volume control, which can be used for both purposes.

I'm suprised, that the user manual doesn't cover the pre-out/main-in at all, though. I.e., if one looks at the schematic, one can also see, that the input impedance varies very significantly with the volume control setting, if the 4330 is used as a power-amp. Hence I would have expected the user manual to suggest the volume control of the 4330 to be fully turned up (as well as nothing to be connected to the tape-in and the tape monitor to be activated) for that usage scenario. So I've checked the user manual, but found nada.

Thank you for the explanation. Indeed when used as a power amp the volume potentiometer controls the amps sensitiviy although it doesn't have much effect if any past about midway in its rotation.
