I was looking on the Crites sight, and happened to look at his speakers. I'm thinking about buying a set of Heresy's, and I noticed his CS-2 speaker. It looks just like a Heresy, same size drivers, and cabinets. How do his CS-2 compare to a Heresy? I was also looking for info on the Cornscalla. I imagine the CS version A to D are them. Is that so? Anybody has any information about the Cornscalla I'd like to hear it. But I'd also like to know about the CS-2. If his prices are current, they aren't bad, compared to the Heresy's. It would take a bit of convincing to get me to buy something other then the real thing. But I am curious. Thank you all very much.

I've recently shared my Crites experience here. I wanted Cornwall IV's but simply couldn't afford them. I originally was going to buy Heresy's that were in my budget but after hearing Cornwalls I knew I couldn't settle for less. I discovered Crites and was up for a DIY project so at 1/3 the cost of Cornwalls purchased the Type B 3 way kit components. I bought 2 5x5 sheets of quality Baltic Birch at the lumber yard and off I went to building. I am extremely happy with these speakers, sound quality is above and beyond. You can't go wrong with Crites. Seriously great value and excellent service.

A pair a 4s (at a good price) not too far from me were tempting, then I stumbled on a pair of '82 Cornwalls needing a little work for $100.

For a Benji for Cornwalls, that's definitely a no brainer. You did good there. What kind of price on the 4's? Wonder which drivers, etc. Always wanted to hear a pair of them at least. You'd think there would be some fairly close to me being in central AR and I believe he's in NW AR.

Crites has a Facebook page. I would suggest asking the question there as well, you may get first hand experiences rather quickly. Michael the owner is very active on the page as well.

I have built Heresy3s, Cornscala Style C, and Pi4s.
My recommendation would be Cornscalas, hands down.
If I was to build another pair, I would probably choose the Style Bs, so that I could utilize a pair of Dave's tweeters.

My Pi4s turned out very nice.
But are not as hi efficient as the Klipsch and can cost more to build, especially if you you opt for the real bass drivers, the stellar JBL 2226H.
They retail for about $500 each.

My Heresy3 were also built from scratch with an overbuild on the cabinets with Klipsch H3 kits.
These kits includes all drivers, horns and Xovers, meant to have H2 owners upgrade to H3 status.
If you feel the CSs will be too larger for your room, I bet Claude's Super Heresy might be the way to go.

I wonder how those JBLs would sound in my Cornscalas? Would I have to tweak the crossovers?
You got the motorboards (and speakers) from Crites and then built the cabs yourself?

I'm about to do the same with the Heresies I have. I've got the motorboards and will build the cabinets in the next few weeks, then put all of the Super Heresy bits in the new boxes and flip the refreshed Heresies, unless my partner doesn't object to keeping them.

Yes, I goth the drivers with crossovers and added the motorboards and speaker grill cloth. All in around 1800.00. I bought two 5x5 sheets of high quality 3/4" Baltic (Russian) Birch plywood from a local lumber yard for just under 200.00. I made the cuts and assembled myself. If you build your own, don't skimp on the plywood. The stuff at the big chain stores is junk with lots of voids.
