I hope they do a better job with the records than their players. I can't believe how many broken Crosleys I see at the GW Buy the Pound.
 
Crosley has introduced many to vinyl, but their products are so subpar. Maybe they will get serious and become the comman man's Pro-ject.

Hoping for some great product since they are located in my hometown. I think Crosley has changed and is offering some legit turntables now.
 
I hate to be a pessimist and rain on the parade, but I fully expect that they will flood the market with awful, disgustingly sub-par pieces of **** that somewhat resemble records, thereby dragging down the whole format. I hate Crosley. They have zero conscience, they'll sell any piece of garbage for $.

That's K-Tel, dude. If I'm not mistaken, I think K-Tel is/was a venture by Ron Popeil of 'set it, and forget it' rotisserie fame.

I had quite a few k-tel records when I was a kid. I've seen a few sealed NOS over on the auction site I wouldn't mind adding to my collection. Not for their high quality pressings as much as just to have those '50 of the greatest disco hits of 1977, all on one record'.
 
K-tel compressed the **** out of everything and dropped the levels down low, and often butchered out beginnings, endings and entire verses to fit all those songs on a disc. I wouldn't touch them.
 
Later in life, K-Tel did improve their records, dropped the number of tunes. And by then got master tape dubs of better quality from the record labels. By 1978-1979, these albums sounded way better. Still slightly noisy, but in nice condition sound good.
 
I'm sure there will be the usual AK exclamations that anything that makes records/turntables more wide spread is great. Well there's nothing positive if Crosley gets involved in pressing/selling records. Like their turntables I guarantee the records will be just as awful. There is no love of audio to be found when it comes to Crosley, just make a fast buck on ignorant people at Walmart. I understand you have to make a profit and pay the employees but Crosley is no U-Turn or VPI where the owners have a deep interest, pride in their products and actually enjoy listening to music. Too bad someone that actually would of made good use of that pressing equipment didn't purchase it instead of Crosley.
 
I can see it now: Your shiny new Crosley suitcase/record player coming with a coupon book for 12 Crosley pressed records for only a penny! And each month you'll receive another selected Crosley pressed record. Operators are standing by!
