Crossover Help Please

I would like to bypass the attenuators/pots on this Sansui AS-300 crossover, but I'm not 100% sure how. The pot on the left (HF) is very corroded and I don't want to try to rebuild or replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With the L-pad in the position that you like, measure the resistance across the coil and the resistance in series with the coil. After knowing those values, you can find a close (10 watt or more) resistors and solder them into the circuit. If you just take the L-pads out, the circuit design will be compromised, and the results may be very desirable. BTW, I speak from experience on this very issue.

You could make it really easy and buy a new 8 ohm L-pad. Amazon has a Parts Express 50 watt one for $13 with next day delivery.

Certainly it will be undesirable if fixed (by the resistor values) where it does not sound good. This would be a problem if the pot is toast, and you have no idea of the best sounding knob settings.

Yes. the midrange and tweeters end up overly bright with out the 2 resistance values. (On a pair of AR-3 speakers).

I would clean and lubricate them , and leave alone and just recap...
i just put my recapped AS-300 on market place about 10 min before writing this... Im sure ill be sorry if they sell.
