Crown XTi Series - Opinions please

A school in the area is selling everything in the building - including a Crown XTi series amp (model is not listed) What do you think about one of these for a home system?

I don't particularly like Crown as compared to other pro amps but I have heard some good things from the XTi series
But why pass up ANY pro amp? Go for it I say!

I used to use a Crown XTi1000 as a bass amp and it was great! Extremely powerful and (with a bass guitar) very clean. In the end it was too clean actually, and I ended up selling it for an Ampeg amp that sounded better to my ears. I had the XTi for well over a year though and had no issues. They are highly programmable and best suited to large multi-amp pro audio situations though... Not sure I'd run one in a hifi setup. Especially considering the thermostatically controlled and fairly audible cooling fan.
