Crushed corner on Well Tempered RP....how to fix?

Shipping managed to crush this box and the front left corner of my Well Tempered Record Player. Can anyone with some experience shed some light on how to best fix this. I repair and restore furniture but never work on this type of MDF laminate material. Can the edge strips be heated and partially removed for repair/rebuild of corner and then re-applied using heat to straighten and re-attach? I have a friend who builds custom cabinets and uses melamine on most builds. I'm sure he can build a new base but that is last resort and costly. Also, is it possible to pull the bottom piece from the one above it to make repair easier. I'm not sure if getting it warm would allow the bottom piece to detach from the other two. Any an

I'd treat it like bodywork on a car. Break out the Bondo and make sure to feather the edges in real nice then paint. It is just cosmetic after all right - nothing structural? There are also various epoxy putties, pastes and clays you could use to do the same thing.

Thats what I'd do and have done . I had a bad crushed corner on a advent 3 ,particle board and plastic veneer .Used famowood filler. Stained and used a graining pen, then spray poly. . If you looked right at it you would see it. But I bought it look good.
 
If you are planning to veneer it again. Bondo works great. I may have a pic some where if you need it. Put the Bondo on with a spreader and get it close to the right form and then let dry and sand it to perfection.
 
Thanks for the replies. As of now, there has been a claimed filed with FedX by shipper. We will see where that goes. Keep you posted.
 
IMG_1848.jpg IMG_1846.jpg IMG_1846.jpg IMG_1848.jpg Repaired! The front bottom edge strip was removed, the left side bottom removed and the rear bottom edge strip was removed. Corner was repaired with wood epoxy. The rear good edge was moved to the front. The left side edge was re applied but rotated 180 degrees. Both damaged pieces were heated with a hair dryer and were really in pretty good shape once they were rolled under pressure while hot. The front damaged strip was applied to the back and looks great. About 4 hours worth of work. A friend who makes cabinets assisted and it wasn't a bad job at all. Spray adhesive was used to attach all pieces and again all edges were rolled with pressure.
