CS-63DX Question

There is a pair of CS-63DX speakers for sale locally that I am considering purchasing to use with my Spec 1 and Spec 4 setup. Any opinions on of these speakers would be over powered with my setup as they are 80 watt max? I am currently running a pair of Fisher studio series STV-440m speakers but would love to add some vintage Pioneer's to my setup.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I owned a pair of these several years ago and used them in a garage system. I know, not an ideal situation. I don't know the specs on these, but if I remember correctly they were fairly efficient and could be driven to highish sound levels without a high powered amp. They were decent speakers for rock music, which is what I played when working in the garage or yard. One day my crackhead neighbor decided he REALLY wanted them (cabs were very rough) and I sold them to him during a yard sale for $10. If you can get them cheaply, then I say go for it. But just remember there are plenty of better speakers out there, it just depends on what sounds good to you. They may be an upgrade to your Fishers.

I can get them for $25 and they are in really good shape. The Fishers were actually bought new by my dad in 87 or 88 to go along with a higher end Onkyo system that he bought at the same time. I listen to a wide variety of music ranging from classic rock to jazz to opera to metal, you get the picture. I will probably just pick them up today and can always use them in the garage or another room if I don't see any improvement over the Fishers. Thanks for the reply.
