After sitting alone in my basement for a few years I decided to crank up my old CT-A9. Power and lights on but couldn't open the door. Took it all apart and found the common melted belts. Cleaned up, replaced those and the idler tire. Door and capstans all work fine but FF and REW as well as the right wheel not taking up the tape slack are still problems. Could this be a clutch problem that is common in many other Pioneer decks? If so, where are people sending their decks to get repaired? I live in Iowa and as far as I can tell no one within 500 miles are doing any cassette deck repairs let alone Pioneer.
