I found a clean Pioneer CT-F9191 at a local thrift shop, however when I was testing it, I could not get the FF and RW to work. Id press the button, they would stick for a few seconds, then pop back up. Play worked fine. Any ideas? I'd hate to have it be something simple and miss out on it. Ive already got a nice one in my system, but figured I would try and save it so someone that appriciates it can enjoy it!

The Pioneer forum is chock full of the ctf-9191 stuff. The FF REW problem is a classic that is shared with the ctf-1000 as well.
Usually it is a small plastic idler clutch that fails, no belts or tires involved (although there are two tires they don't contribute to the problem) a press together assembly cracks and clutch pressure that is NOT intended to be transmitted to the entire assembly causes the thing to become almost impossible to turn.
This is the Achilles heel of the deck.
Rich P has a post that discusses the pro's and con's of gluing the parts together permanently, not a good solution as eventually the felt on the clutch would need replacement.

edit: the part that says "it fits in here" is a misnomer, that part fits inside of the part that cracks.
The crack causes the friction fit to be lost.
