Apologies in advance as this is sort of a cross post from the tube forum. Seeing as there was no suggestions i took the liberty or re-posting here. Bottom line, is I have a vintage pilot pre map that needs a new case/cabinet. AK member Dan/matt from "macintosh cabinets" is not doing any pieces which are not listed on their site.

Does anyone have any suggestions for some one who might want to tackle this. I was thinking something along the lines of this:

I would try Bohhey at www.fixmydual.com. In addition to repairing Dual turntables he also runs a cabinet making shop. I bought a solid walnut base for my Dual 701 from him that was outstanding in quality. I remember talking to him one time and he mentioned that he does custom work too.
It would be worth a try......

Finding a good local woodworker is the best option, IMO. You can bring the preamp to them so that they can measure and fit as they work, you can see some of their finished work in person, you can discuss specifics in person, you can support your local economy... It's a pretty basic woodworking project, and no need for them to have any electronics expertise as long as you specify appropriate venting.

thanks for the all the replies. I will also try and investigate woodworkers in the westchester duchess county new york area.

Here is a picture of the pre amp:
