D100 always shows 44.1/24 and never 44.1/16

Hi All,
I read several threads online saying D100 always show 44.1/24 and never 44.1/16.
My D100 also does the same, I suppose it does not affect the sound in any way but it would be nice to have accurate information showing.

Any one noticed the same thing ? Is there a fix for this ?
Thx... AJ
