Dahlquest DQM-9C, In Need Of Recap???

Hi,
Picked up a pair of these and they sound great being pushed by my Sansui G-7500... (90WPC)

However they are a little old and wondering if they would be even better with fresh Caps...

I can do this myself so no Labor Charge, or Shipping involved?

Thoughts???

It's unlikely the caps have gone bad, they're not really that old. The only way to know is to test the existing capacitors.

Recapping really can't make the speakers better than they originally were, but it can help return them to original. Beyond that you'd want to look into crossover modification, which should involve more than cap replacement. Or consider going active.

That all being said, ain't nothing wrong with wanting better sound. How do you find them lacking?
