Dahlquist DQ-10 Replacement Tweeter

I picked up a pair of Dahlquist DQ-10’s over the weekend, one dome tweeter is out. I talked with Madisound and they recommended an SB Acoustics SB-21SDC, but I’ve also seen Scanspeak D2010 and Visaton DT-94 mentioned in other threads and on the Dahlquist group site.

Does anyone have any recent experience replacing the tweeters? Originals seem hard to come by.

If it isn’t too heretical, I’ll probably just run the new dome tweeter for the high end disconnect the piezo.

Heresy! Heresy! Burn him at the stake! Haha. I know some do get rid of the piezo's, I say do what sounds good to your ears! Sorry too, I don't have any experience with replacement DQ-10 tweets, but have loved the DQ's for a long time. Never owned a pair, had a friend that had them for quite a few years and I always enjoyed going over to his place and listening to them. Most of the Dahlquist have had a place for my ears over the years, always enjoyed them. Hope you get a good outcome on your replacements, whichever you choose. I am sure there will be some good input here for them.

Thanks! I may go with Madisounds suggestion for now, they aren’t too expensive and the frequency response looks very good.
