I'm not affiliated with the sale, and they wouldn't be for me--a guy I work with is looking for stereo gear, and I told him I'd keep an eye out for him.

That's a good deal. If I didn't park my car 6 miles away at my girlfriends I'd have thought about those, too. Like I need more speakers...but I've always wanted to check out the Magnat/Dahlquists. I need to look into parking downtown.

I told my coworker about them. He knew about Dahlquist and sounded interested in the speakers, so I advised him to act quickly. If he doesn't get them, hopefully an AKer will.

Very nice suprise to the senses (the dqm line) make a lower offer
if he won't budge, get them any way you can't go wrong.

There was a pair of IMF TLS-50s for $100 on Chicago's CL if you didn't get the DQMs...might still be there (not mine, but I seriously considered chasing after them). Those would be VERY nice speakers. If you've ever heard IMFs....you'd understand why I've been thinking about that deal all day.

Just saw the IMFs--interesting. I've never heard of those before. The DQMs are still on CL as well, so I'll give the guy at work another nudge tomorrow. Hard to believe someone hasn't bought them yet... And somebody in Logan Square just posted some ADS L710's for $200.

I'd pick some of these speakers up myself, but I don't have the space or the money right now. I'll have to make do with my KEF 103.2's and my ADS L620's.

Yeah, your totally slummin' it.

IMFs sound REALLY nice. Being as I ended up with two other pairs of speakers yesterday anyway (ESS AMT-1 and Fostex monitors), I should have just gone and got the IMFs, too. After awhile, what's two more? Man these Fostex coaxial monitors sound fantastic near-field.
