Dahlquist DQM-7 Compact vs DQM-9?

For those who have experience and/or knowledge with both models, is the main difference between these the fact that the 7 is a 2 way and the 9 is a 3 way? Are the woofers and tweeters the same in both? Are the enclosures the same size?

I ask because there is a pair of 7Cs available to me at a good price, and I happen to have a pair of the Magnat High Velocity mids on hand, and it looks like the spacing between the woofer and tweeter on the 7 can fit the mid...you see where I'm going.

Also, is the DQM-9 crossover schematic available anywhere online? I looked, didn't find one.

The .io group wiki says the 7c is smaller than the 9. 21 vs 24 tall and other smaller dimensions.
 
I wouldn't advise a sex change operation on your DQM-7's. It would devalue them and create a three-way that would also be devalued. Adding in the cost of a new crossover makes it an even iffier proposition. Keep and eye out for a pair of DQM-9's if that's what you really want.

I don't necessarily want either. I'm more of a JBL guy, although I've been happy with my DQ-20s for many years. The idea only occurred to me because I know the 7s and 9s are well regarded, a pair of 7s became available for cheap and I already happen to have a pair of DQ-9 mids sitting on a shelf. I'm not at all worried about resale value and I'm not quite following what you mean by "sex change operation".
