Dahlquist M907 vs. DQM-9C?

I am thinking about going to have a look at a pair of M907s tomorrow. I am familiar with the DQM-9C but not these. Anyone hear or own a set or possibly able to comment on comparisons? The owner is asking $160 for them. I previosly passed on the 9Cs for $200 because of the Nextel finish and and wanted the standard wood finish. If they`re similar enough I may get these.

A Large Advent with a midrange and a better tweeter.

I really want a pair and I'd certainly snag them for $160.

Vifa drivers in a well made cabinet and good crossovers are hard to beat.

Are they walnut or black? If they are black offer 20-30 less.

I really really like my M907s. $160 is a steal. Get them. You won't regret it.

I agree, $160 is a great deal for the M907. I have a pair that I had to refoam the woofers in and do a little cosmetic work on. They blew me away when I listened to them and still own them. Very good sounding speaker. I still own them and they aren't going anywhere soon (I've had them for a few years now). Oh they do sound like a large Advent with better tweeter and added midrange. They ARE Advent woofers stock...

Well, I went by today and had a look at them and decided to pass because of the cosmetic issues. The cabinets had stains and scratches, and the grill fabric was a bit tattered in area. Also the grill frames themselves were slightly warped/bowed, which led me to believe they spent some time outside in storage possibly. One of the mid domes was pushed in also. I didn`t even ask to listen to them as I don`t find myself having the time for another speaker project and I`ve come across many good plug and play deals on nice speakers. I`m better off putting resources into recapping my DQ-10s and ADS L1090-2s as these wouldn`t have passed the WAF test on looks, and questionable whether there would be any improvement over sets already owned.
