Something turns me off when someone pulls all the tubes and then sells a chassis for the price of a complete unit and then tries to separately sell the tubes.

The EL84 Sherwood is one of the best of the designs but, price may be fair, or not depending on what was done in the restoration and who did it. It could be a hack job, sadly or, well done. Sherwoods are a challenge the first tile around under the hood.

I agree. And, this guy has tried selling other stuff. I think I recall hearing that he's difficult to deal with. I'll pass on anything he's selling.

I would worry more about the fact that the seller refuses to demo it.

He's listed that on several ads, stating that he fears for the safety of his children. I'd hate to be so paranoid... it makes daily life terrifying.

Maybe he is attracting the wrong type of people.I have sold quite a few audio items and every audio person that has come to my house has been great.He may have valid reasons for not wanting anyone into his home but when I buy something I want to make sure it works.
