Dallas CL: Three Pioneer SX-1980 receivers for sale in a single ad

Just got my SX-1980 back from repair.It's pumping the woofers and sounding great.The only problem is the tuning isn't up to par as it should be.It doesn't pull in stations from 88 to 100 but does fair from 100 to 108.The tuning and signal meters are erratic on the left side....I realize that it's very time consuming and hard to adjust the tuner and capacitor just right.The APC could not be adjusted good enough to get the fine tune and quartz light to come on.
Sounds like someone peaked up the tuner at the top end of the band only. It's a split the difference kinda deal going from low end of FM band to high, back and forth making adjustments. Shouldn't be all that difficult for a tech experienced with tuners to align it properly with a good signal generator and service manual.

:eek::yikes::yikes::eek:

He sold 'em pretty quick, which confuses me, because I seen other 1980's for sale at a much less price that are just as nice, work fine, and they don't move THAT quick.

Just recently one made $3,100 on the bay. One that is in mint condition, with all original packaging, paperwork and a $600 refurb job fetching $2,800 is well within reason.

I find it hard to believe he found more than 1 going to garage sales...possibly a flea market but wow...the odds are staggering..

Do you know if he is still selling his pioneer sx1980's. I couldn't connect with him using the address from Craig's list.
Thanks
