Never heard of them either but in the beginning (and since)of theater surround sound for the home there was a rush of medioker speaker builders that came about.

A friend of mine has a pair of these, and they sound pretty good. Hadn't heard of them before either.

If memory serves, these were a favorite of Sam Tellig in the late 1980s when he was writing his "Audio Cheapskate" column in Stereophile. They were built by a mom-and-pop operation in Kentucky and were quite good. My parents bought a pair of them on my recommendation; presumably they're still playing music for one of my nieces or nephews.

I remember when they were popular and received some good press. That sounds like a good price for them. I thought about a pair years ago but never bought them.

Dr Tinear is right - there was a time when the audio media (or at least Stereophile) loved these things - they were far from "medioker". It's a shame they didn't survive - just like a trillion other small-scale speaker companies over the years. Evidently it isn't enough to just have a quality product...
