Dare I say, Pics of Listening Spaces continued Part 2.

Just something I posted in another thread of my intentions of creating this thread.

I like to say just for the record... I started a part 2 because I've gone through that entire 1st thread at least 3 or 4 times for inspiration (many hours and days devoted), each time with more and more dead picture links, so I started a second one in hopes of a refresh with current high quality pictures, I do not feel like the original should be shut down, many are comfortable with posting there.

I like you're idea of a video thread, I may contribute in the future, I also like the Idea of a small listening space thread as I am in the same boat and I'm sure many others are.

But I had no intention of having the first listening space thread shut down, I only started mine in hopes of fresh high quality present day photos to be posted without having to go through 800 pages of possible dead links.

Nice theater system in such a small room. Makes my long for my sold Altec Model 15's, to use with a newly acquired '66 McIntosh MA5100 integrated amp.
What is your center channel speaker?

I'm using one of my Yamaha S112iv PA speakers. After a calibration with Audyssey it sounds pretty good. I might make them into e-waves one day.

Here's another, featuring the trippy milkdrop visualizer

VERY nice. Clean straight lines, tidy, great desk/worktable
(...and are those the "cult-classic" Minimus-7's I see tucked in there ?...)

hi... why thanx... I love my new home office since we moved and my new desk I've been having a blast with this set up

close the speakers are later Optimus Pro-X44AV's basically nearly the same as the min 7's but shielded and ported in back.

in addition to the x44av's i also own VG Minimus 77s , Pro X7's, Pro X5's and just yesterday I got these little Optimus XTS 25 speakers .... I have a problem I see these Minimus / Optimus speakers and I simply must buy them but since I have paid between $5 and $12 per pair I guess it is ok :D

Here are all my systems and the listening rooms over the years.

Stereo v1.0 (1986-1987) 39 Acres of Sound. My first stereo in the barracks in Germany. Not the best sounding but it was LOUD. Loud enough it was heard all over post, all 39 acres of it. From the front gate to the all ranks club to the motor pool to the Colonel's house! Pioneer VSH 4000 reciever, Pioneer PD-M6 CD player, Sansui D-W10 tape deck and SE-88 EQ, Sansui SP-Z99 speakers. Video was a 14" Panasonic TV and mono VCR.

Stereo v2.0 (1988-1994) The Carver System. This is the system that everyone remembers. I brought this one back to the states after I got out. I sold off v1.0 in early 1988 to buy this. Carver C-1 preamp, Carver M1.0t power amp, Carver CD player, Adcom 3 way speaker switch, dbx 400xg Program Route Selector, dbx SNR-1 noise reduction. Blo$e 601 speakers. Video was a pair of Panasonic stereo vcrs. The Blo$e speakers where one of the worst purchase I ever made in stereo. (my room mate had a pair also, hence the Adcom speaker selector.) Hated them right after I got them. Ended up selling them for $100. Not pictured in this line up is the dbx 120x-ds subharmonic synthesizer and Nakamichi RX-202 tape deck. Also the Carver CD player was replaced in 1991 with a Rotel 855 after it died.

Stereo v3.0 (1994-2003) NAD System. In 1994 I got the stereo upgrade fever again. This time it was go smaller as we lived in a 600 sq ft duplex. NAD 304 integrated amp, NAD 502 CD player, Sankyo STD1700 tape on extended loan from a friend, ACI monitor speakers, Headroom LV headphone amp with Grado SR60 cans. Video is a JVC stereo VCR and Philips 20" TV. Not pictured is a Mitsubishi linear turntable (behind the right cabinet door.)

stereov30.jpg

Stereo v4 (2003-2009) The Lean Years. (Post divorce system.) Archer 5 watt surround amp, a semi working Apex DVD player that did not produce video but would play CDs, Mitsubishi tuner and Klipsch KM6 speakers.

stereov35.jpg

Stereo v5 (2009-2011) The Phoenix Sysytem. Starting over from almost nothing. The Klipsch KM6 speakers carried over from v4, got these off eBay in 2003. Also picked up a the Marantz 2230 on eBay. Pioneer PD-M453 and Denon DCD 820 CD players and Sony TC-R303 tapedeck all from Goodwill. Sony 40 LCD Blu-Ray and Xbox360 all retail.

REMEMBER this tread is about LISTENING SPACES

Please remember this thread is about listening spaces, not equipment close-ups!

So I'm new here... but I'm not new to the Audio/Video scene. Here is an image of my "listening" space. It is relatively new. However, I am currently in search of an older Pioneer/Sansui receiver and some two way speakers.

My current set up is a Marantz SR5001, Panasonic BDT-500, JBL HLS 810 for the front 3 speakers (hidden behind the screen), dual 2 way speakers for the rear (I intended to buy better speakers for the rear years ago... these have worked fine for the past 4 years though). The projector is an 18 year old Sony 1251Q CRT projector fed HDMI via HDFury with Gamma Correction processed through a Box 1040.

Man, I lusted for those speakers when I was a teenager. They had them in the main showroom at Team Electronics, and I used to hang out there just to listen to them.

I love the panels next to the SB6000a... I flip flopped between a pair of Magnepan MG1c's and a pair of SB6000a for a while and I couldn't decide until buddy came to pick up his Mag's I was borrowing :D

The SB6000's await a recap... but I have to ask, do you listen with grills on or off?

Spaces Part 1 or Part 2

More confusion, where should I post? Listening Spaces Part 1 or Part 2, so I'll just post it again.
