Were is the other one? Don't you need two of them? Looks great and should be a good performer.

the second will be built when the wife gets used to this one and wont complain about the second.

budget is my limiting factor, hence the dayton driver and not something obscene like an 18" beast. or 3 being built in one go :D

Zoe,

3 is the bare minimum.

Dave, I understand this in theory, but my two subs sound so good I am not sure that adding another would add anything to the music. I walk around the room and don't hear any nulls. I can distinquish between ALL the foot pedel notes of a pipe organ. You will have to stop by and confirm my findings.

Looks good so far  I have really been enjoying my Dayton 12 inch that I finished a few weeks ago. Photos one of these days...

Zoe is Edd's lovely wife who was reading the thread at the time I posted this. While I fully believe that what I said was true, it was mostly done to humor myself. :)

Just a small update, i got the lid on, rounded the edges and smeared on some bondo.

I know bondo isnt realy the best thing to use on mdf, but i realy wanted to play with it :D

I know it will sound good. But my bet is, when it is all said and done, you will wish you would have gotten at least a 500 watt amp. Just speaking from my exp.

The 300 watt amp was chosen because the limit of excursion in a sealed enclosure at 170 watts at lower frequencies.

at 300 watts the output is close to 112db at 1 meter, or about 105db at my listening position.

while i would like 115db at the listening position at 20hz, im going to need larger vented enclosures, more xmax, and maybe 3 subwoofers.
